Hannah & George

His father has
his future
planned.

George idolizes his father. He wears the uniform, repeats the slogans, and believes what the Ministry of Order tells him.

Hannah wants something else for her son: the freedom to discover who he is.

She grew up in the West. She remembers a life beyond the Ministry’s reach. To give George that chance, she must leave the man who brought her to the East—and take his son with her.

The Ministry of Order

The state’s
surveillance goes
beneath the skin.

Every citizen of the East carries an implanted identity device. It tells the Ministry who they are—and allows it to track their movements.

Disappearing means finding someone who can cut it out.

For Hannah, the route to freedom leads into a hidden world of prison cells, black-market surgery and people who have already paid for defying the state.

Outside the system

A journalist.
A killing machine.
A chance.

Winston lives among the relics of an abandoned museum, documenting the crimes the Ministry wants forgotten.

His protector, Beatrice, is an armed robot with very little patience for intruders.

Hannah needs their help. But she arrives with secrets of her own—and a husband whose work makes trusting her a dangerous proposition.

The way west

The border is
only part of
the danger.

Beyond the city lie false cornfields, hidden tunnels and the Split: the scar that divides their world.

The way through belongs to smugglers. An armored train offers passage through steam hot enough to kill.

Hannah has to trust strangers, keep her son safe and stay ahead of the Ministry. Every step takes her further from the life she knows.
